In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men. (John 1:4)
Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life." (Jn 6:35)
“I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me will live even if he dies." (Jn 11:25)
“I am the way, and the truth, and the life." (Jn 14:6)
We usually associate these verses with the spiritual (eternal) life believers have in God through Christ, but actually all life is in Him -- our physical daily life too!
CELEBRATE GOD! CELEBRATE LIFE!
God is the Creator of everything living. Genesis 2:7 says concerning the creation of man that He gave him His own breath, "and man became a living being." He could do this because "the Father has life in Himself" (Jn. 5:26). He is the source of life.
Many passages describe God as "living."
My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. (Psalm 42:2)
The Lord is the true God; He is the living God and the everlasting King. (Jeremiah 10:10)
We have fixed our hope on the living God, who is the Savior of all men. (1 Timothy 4:10)
Whenever we think about life, we should think of God. The third member of the Trinity is also "the Spirit who gives life" (Jn 6:63). We celebrate life because God is alive and gives life. He sustains life -- every breath we take is from Him.
When Jesus sprang back to life the 3rd day, it was as though something irrepressible could no longer be held down. He had to come out of the grave! Indeed, it was with a bit of incredulity that the angel at the tomb asked Jesus' followers, "Why would you ever seek for The Living One among dead bodies?!? He can't possibly be here!" (my paraphrase of Luke 24:5-6)
LIFE IS IRREPRESSIBLE
Truly, truly, I say to you, an hour is coming and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live. For just as the Father has life in Himself, even so He gave to the Son also to have life in Himself. (Jn 5:25-26)
For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive. (1 Cor 15:22)
